OUR STORY
The Wheathampstead Warriors running club was set up in 2016 by a couple of enthusiastic local runners. Now run by a committee of elected villagers, with very mixed running abilities and ambitions, our shared vision is to get more people in Wheathampstead enjoying running.
From day one, the club’s aim has been to cater for all abilities, with a real focus on supporting those new to running or looking to run further. We have about 90 local members who range from marathon runners to those proud to make it round a 5km route without walking too much. Membership is open to runners aged 18 and over.
We meet regularly twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday nights behind the Memorial Hall on Marford Road.
Our aim is to encourage people of all abilities, including beginners, to improve their fitness, health and well being through running.
We have also been known to frequent local drinking establishments after a session for a debrief 😉
